Refunds & Cancellation
Last updated 16 July 2026
We want Upwind to be an easy yes. Here’s exactly how the trial, cancellation, and refunds work — no fine-print surprises.
Free trial first
You can build and preview for free. Publishing your site starts a 14-day free trial — you’re not charged until the trial ends and you choose to subscribe. If Upwind isn’t for you, simply don’t subscribe; nothing is charged.
Cancel any time
You can cancel your subscription whenever you like from Manage billing in your dashboard. Cancelling stops all future charges.
What happens when you cancel
- Monthly plan: your site stays live until the end of the current paid month, then goes offline. We don’t charge a partial month after that.
- Annual plan: your site stays live until the end of the paid year.
- Your content isn’t deleted immediately — you can resubscribe to bring your site straight back, or ask us to export it.
Refunds
- Annual plan — 14-day money-back: if you cancel an annual subscription within 14 days of the first annual charge, email us for a full refund.
- Monthly plan: monthly payments are generally non-refundable once the month has started, but cancelling stops any further charges. If something went wrong, talk to us — we’re reasonable.
- Nothing here limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Build fee on partner-built sites: where a partner built your site, the one-off build fee is collected by CoreShift and paid to the partner as commission. Refunds of a build fee are considered case by case and, where refunded, may be recovered from the partner's future commission.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we’ll attempt it again and let you know. If it stays unpaid, the site may be suspended until billing is updated — you can fix your card any time from Manage billing.
How to cancel or request a refund
Use Manage billing in your dashboard to cancel, or email hello@tryupwind.com for a refund request or any billing question.
